About Me

An ideal therapist would have an even balance between personal life experiences, a stellar education, years of experience working with clients who have achieved their therapeutic goals, compassion, empathy and a non-judgmental attitude that is offered to each client during every session.  I believe I am that therapist.

Personal History

My life to this point has brought me both deep sorrow and great joy.  I too have experienced loss and heartbreak.  I am a human being, just as you are, and these times are just part of the life experience.  However, I have also learned that we don’t have to just accept things the way they are.  We have the power to change our lives and thereby change the way we experience life.  Through my own journey I have found joy, deep contentment, accomplishment of my goals, a pride in who I am as a human being and a peace in life that allows me to appreciate every day.

Education

I graduated Magna cum laude from New York University with a degree in Applied Psychology.  I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Hunter College School of Social Work where my focus was in clinic social work. I am licensed by the State of New York as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).

Clinical Experience

During my undergraduate studies I did a 1½-year internship on the acute psychiatric floor at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.  As a graduate student I worked on Riker’s Island inside of the women’s prison (Rose M. Singer building).  I worked with pregnant and parenting women with long forensic and substance abusing histories. Additionally I have worked in multiple outpatient mental health clinics in New York City serving a wide variety of both men and women with issues that span the spectrum from depression, anxiety, relationship issues, work issues to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

I am now in private practice and enjoy the opportunity that brings me to utilize these vast and varied clinical experiences in order to bring a clear perspective and depth of understand to each and every client.

My style

First and foremost I am thoroughly professional and prepared to clinically assist you with your issues and concerns.  My personal style is warm, relaxed, supportive, and non-judgmental.  I honor and respect each individual’s need and ability to work at a rate that is safe and comfortable for them.
